19th century patriotic related powder horn with scrimshaw decoration including a central portrait of William Henry Harrison (W.H. H.), flanked by vignettes of the eight previous Presidents. Additionally engraved with an American eagle, three other birds, several trees and the name of the owner, "Capt. S.W. Stuart," with date 1841. Possibly a memorial to President Harrison, who died in 1841. 13-1/2" L. Lot also includes one later 19th century stacked horn cane with horn handle and etched initials "SDS," with note reading "Given to S. D. Stuart by his brother Will Stuart. Made entirely of cow horns fitted over a center." 34" L. (2 items) Condition: Hairline crack to tapered end. Some minor chipping to mouth near plug.
