Gaspare J. Ruffolo (American/Illinois, 1908-1997) oil on board Western landscape painting titled "Mountain Bell Lake, Colorado" depicting a lake foreground with snow-capped mountains in the background. Signed "Gaspere Ruffolo" lower right. Housed in a molded wood frame with linen liner. 23 1/2" H x 29 5/8" W. Framed – 32" H x 38" W. Biography (courtesy Peter Hastings Falk, Who Was Who in American Art): Chicago-born Gasper Ruffolo studied painting at the Art Institute of Chicago with Wellington Reynolds and George Oberteuffer, and exhibited at the Art Institute. He was known for his landscapes and portraits, and was a member of the Association of Chicago Painters and Sculptors, Chicago Galleries Association, and the All-Illinois Society of Fine Artists. Provenance: Consigned by a direct descendant of the artist. CONDITION: Some staining to linen liner. Overall very good condition.
