William Hogarth (England, 1697-1764) Marriage a-la-Mode print series, the complete set of six (6) engravings, framed, plus one (1) framed portrait engraving. Published 1745 by Hogarth and engraved by Baron, Ravenet, and Scotin. All with past Hunter Museum of Art, Chattanooga, TN loan stickers affixed to backing. Ref.: Paulson 228-233. Lot also includes Benjamin Smith''s (England, 1786-1833) 1795 stipple engraving after Hogarth''s self-portrait The Painter And His Pug, collection of the Tate Britain, London. All housed under glass in metal frames with gray mats except portrait, with olive mat. Marriage a-la-Mode: Plates: 15 1/4" H x 18 1/4" W. Sights: 16" H x 19" W. Frames: 22 1/4" H x 25 1/4" W. CONDITION: Overall very good condition. Not examined outside of frames. Plate III from Marriage a-la-Mode with foxing, primarily marginal. Portrait with waviness to sheet.
