German School, late 19th or early 20th century exhibited oil on canvas painting of a woman in a hat, smiling as she carries a basket of bountiful cabbages and other vegetables in one arm, and a basket of eggs in the other. Signed illegibly lower left corner, possibly "Wiesz". Labels en verso, one for the The Munich Artists Cooperative reading "Standige ausstellung der munchener kunstlergenossenschaft / im Gebaude des alten National-Museum, Maximilianstr. 26", the other a red label for Max Hage. Housed in a gilt wood frame. Sight: 31" H x 47" W. Framed: 55 1/2" H x 39 3/4" W.
CONDITION: Scattered touch-ups visible under UV light, mainly to chest, face and hat, scattered craquelure.
