Mid 20th Century Modern armchair, designed by Lawrence Peabody (American, 1924-2002) for Richardson Nemschoff, walnut frame with wicker back and seat. The Danish inspired design features flat-curved and tapering armrests, an extension of the curved back rail, all joined to turned tapering legs, with a woven wicker back and seat supported on curved walnut seat rail and stretchers. Original Richardson Nemschoff label to inside of seat rail. 30 in H x 26 in W x 31 in D.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall good, stable condition. Some wear to handrests. Small area of broken weavers at one side edge of the wicker back and to a small area on the seat. Cushions and upholstery may not be original. Scratch to rear leg.
