Folk art oil on canvas still life painting, unsigned, depicting a glass compote with grapes, bottle of wine and a glass, peaches, banana and other fruits, a bowl of raspberries with silver spoon and knife on a marble-topped table. Possibly original giltwood frame. Provenance: Estate of Salli LaGrone, Franklin, Tennessee. Acquired from the estate of Mrs. Tom Aiken of Columbia, Tennessee. The family also had ties to Kentucky. 21-1/2" x 26-1/2" sight, 27-1/2" x 32-1/2" framed. American, mid to late 19th century. Provenance: Estate of Salli LaGrone, Franklin, Tennessee Condition: Professionally cleaned 1999. A couple of small spots on the left hand side of the tablecloth fluoresce, indicating inpainting.
