Thirty-two (32) Royal Crown Derby "Gold Aves" pattern porcelain bowls, having 22 karat yellow gold hand-decorated birds of paradise and peacocks among flora with scalloped rims. Includes: sixteen (16) rice/open sugar bowls (2 1/2" H x 5" dia.) and sixteen (16) coupe cereal bowls (1 1/8" H x 6 1/2" dia.). All items with red Royal Crown Derby stamps to underside of bases. 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: Majority of items in overall very good condition with normal surface scratches and wear/rubbing to decorations. Rice/open sugar bowls: one with 2 1/2" repaired break to footed base; two with hairlines, largest 1 1/4", to underside of bases; and one minute flea bite or flaw in the making to underside of base. One coupe cereal bowl with minute flea bite or flaw in the making and a very tight 1 1/4" hairline extending from rim, visible to underside of base.
