Fourteen (14) piece English Worcester porcelain dessert service with central hand-painted decoration of shells and sea plants; surrounded by a gilt foliate border, with scalloped edges having gilt beed reel and foliate embossed detailing. Includes twelve (12) round plates (9" dia.) and two (2) serving dishes (7 3/4" x 9"). All pieces with painted "V" and "1185" to underside in red or brown. All pieces with Christie's sticker label and some with additional sticker labels to underside. Early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with slight wear to polychrome decoration, wear to glaze, scattered surface scratches, and wear to gilt. One service plate with Christie's label partially removed.
