A pair of 18th century English Derby porcelain lozenge-shaped dishes, each painted with fancy birds in landscape vignettes, enclosed in a floral-painted scalloped border with scallop shells at each side and end. 3 in H x 13 in W x 9 in D. Circa 1770.
PROVENANCE: A Memphis, Tennessee estate, ex-Christie’s, New York, June 7, 2011, lot 530.
CONDITION: There is significant rubbing to the gilt at the rim, and rubbing/utensil wear to the painted decoration at center. One dish has three very small flakes to the rim, each under 1/4″ in diameter.
