Framed Tibetan Thousand Buddha Thangka, comprised of a central painted Buddha against a backdrop of smaller painted repeating gilt Buddhas on red ground. Framed by two silk borders, the whole mounted onto blue woven silk. Housed in a simple wooden frame. Sight – 47" H x 25 1/2" W. Framed – 47 5/8" H x 26 1/4" W. Late 19th century. Provenance: Purchased by the current consignor from the Moore/ New Haven Collection sold by Parke Bennet/ Sotheby's in the early 1970's. CONDITION: Some minor wear/losses to central painted figure. General wear and fading to silk fabrics.
