Four (4) Chinese Canton enamel on copper decorative items, including one (1) four piece round form stacking box, having vignettes of scholars in interior settings, figures in garden settings, and landscape scenes, surrounded by scrolling foliate and diaper patterned decorations on a yellow ground, terminating in a round base with turquoise glaze and line decorations, all pieces with an off white glazed interior, red character mark to underside of base (5 1/4" H x 4" dia.); one (1) citron form box, having foliate and insect decorations on a yellow ground, with a light blue glazed interior, unmarked (3 1/4" H x 5" W); one (1) rectangular planter, the rim with floral and diapered pattern decorations on a turquiose ground, the sides with insects and flowering branches against a pink ground, the interior and base with a green glaze, stamped "CHINA" to underside of base (2 1/8" H x 8" W); and one (1) round form lidded trinket box, a flowering branch with peaches and butterflies on a white ground to the top of the lid, floral sprays on a yellow ground to sides of lid and body, and green glazed interior, unmarked (1 1/4" H x 3 1/2" dia.). All items late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Williamson County, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: All items in overall good condition with dents to copper, scratches, scattered areas of loss, largest 4 3/4", to enamel decorations, particularly to rim of planter. Stacking box with multiple hairlines, areas that fluoresce under UV light.
