Kittredge Marked Frank Wesson First Model Two-Trigger Carbine, .44 rimfire caliber, serial number 481, visible on trigger guard. Top of barrel marked "F. Wesson's Patent Oct. 25. 1859 B. Kittredge & Co Cincinnati.O.", wedge marked "Patent". Walnut stocks, round barrel, iron mounted, 2-piece brass patch box on butt stock, checkered hammer, standard blade front sight and 2 leaf rear sight. Barrel length – 24". Overall length – 39 1/2". American, mid 19th century. CONDITION: Action is tight, very functional. Period repair to both side of wrist in German silver with brass tacks. Butt plate cut to allow finger hold, appears original. Barrel reasonably bright with overall pepper pitting. Metal with early patination. Sling swivels missing. No extractor.
