Civil War era Colt Model 1851 Navy revolver, .36 caliber, serial number 129818, all visible serial numbers matching. Barrel marked "Address Col. Sam Colt New York U.S. America", cylinder marked "Colts Patent No 9318", frame under cylinder marked "Colts Patent". Walnut stocks, octagonal barrel, brass trigger guard and back strap, iron mounted, cylinder with visible engraved naval engagement scene of the Republic of Texas Navy and the Mexican Navy, checkered hammer, loading lever, standard front sight. Barrel length – 7 1/2". Overall length – 13 1/2". Serial number corresponds to year 1862. Provenance: the collection of Benjamin Dysart, Brentwood, Tennessee. CONDITION: Action is good. No silver remaining to brass mountings. Walnut stocks with 70% varnish. Heel on stock with slight chip. Iron dark with no finish. Cylinder scene is visible.
