1st item: Chinese Cizhou style ceramic cat form pillow. 7 1/4" H x 13" H x 5 1/2" D. 20th century. 2nd item: Japanese Meiji period Satsuma bowl with thousand flowers decoration. Signed on the base. 2 1/5" H x 3/4" dia. 3rd item: Southeast Asian gilt carved Buddha depicted standing atop a lotus blossom with polychrome hair and base. 9" H. 20th century. 4th item: Chinese hardstone carving depicting the scholar Shouxing, now fitted as a lamp, holding a crooked staff in one hand and the peach of immortality in his other hand. Mounted onto a conforming gilt bronze base which has been wired for lighting. Sculpture: 9 1/4" H. 23 1/2" total H. 20th century. 5th – 6th items: Pair of Chinese hardstone oil lamps with carved flowering branch decoration to the rims. Incised character marks to the base. 1 7/8" H x 7 3/8" L x 4 1/4" W. 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: 1st item: A few areas of glaze loss or shallow chipping to ears and one side, chipping to base. 2nd item: Overall good condition, base with light overall craquelure to the glaze. 3rd item: Overall good condition, some scattered flaking to gilt and polychrome paint. 4th item: Horizontal seam at base of scholar sculpture where it is attached to another piece of hardstone, otherwise overall good condition. Lamp funtioning at time of inspection. 5th – 6th items: Minor scattered chipping to one of the lamp, otherwise both overall good condition.
