James K. Polk lithograph, Kellogg Lithograph of U.S. Presidents to 1857, American School landscape painting, and a Penmanship drawing, 4 items total. 1st item: JAMES K. POLK lithographed portrait by N. Currier (2 Spruce St., NY), depicting the president from Tennessee seated with drape and view of the Capitol in the background. Black painted molded frame with hanging ring at top. 13 1/4" x 9 1/8" sight, 17" x 13" framed. Toning, particularly at lower left corner; 3/4" dark mark lower right corner, couple of spots of foxing, overall good condition. Not examined out of frame. American, mid 19th century. 2nd item: THE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES, lithographed composite portrait of presidents from George Washington to James Buchanan and stating the dates of their terms (1789-1857). Attributed to by E.C. Kellogg, New York, and Horace Thayer & Co., Buffalo. Stained wood frame with metal hanging ring at top. 13 1/2" x 9 1/2" sight, 16 1/2" x 12" framed. American, circa 1857. Moderate allover toning, scattered light foxing to print; frame with 1/2" gouge lower edge and several other abrasions and small losses. Not examined out of frame. 3rd item: American School oil on canvas landscape painting, depicting a couple in a boat gliding past a homestead; cows wade in the water, with lush greenery and a road with figures in the background. Unsigned. Canvas stamped on back: Williams & Stevens, 353 Broadway New York. Housed in a gilt and ebonized wood frame. Sight – 11 3/4" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed – 14 3/4" H x 12 1/2" W. Mid 19th century. Surface grime and toning to canvas. 4" L surface scratch in sky area upper left quadrant. 4th item: Penmanship drawing, depicting a stylized feathered bird. "Compliments of W.B. Parker" in calligraphy lower right in script. 8" x 10 1/2" sheet, float mounted in a grain painted molded frame, 13 1/2" x 17". CONDITION: See item description.
