American Classical period drink mixing table of highly figured mahogany with poplar secondary wood. White marble rectangular top over a plain frieze supported by s-scroll brackets. Hinged cabinet door with a raised shaped panel front, opening to a compartment with two interior shelves. Plinth base and half-rounded feet. 37 1/2 in. H x 33 1/4 in. W x 17 in. D. Second quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Mr. and Mrs. David Allen, Springfield, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with minor scattered wear, with some old minor veneer repairs to lower corner edges and lower front edge, shrinkage cracks visible to underside of base. Marble with scattered stains, scratches, and some old chips to edges.
