A pair of Continental Neoclassical-style carved and giltwood torchieres or tall lamp / plant stands, the circular pedestal tops with beaded edges on campana-form pedestals, atop tripod bases with tripartite openwork sides, central columnar shafts, disc-form undertiers, and paw feet, all adorned with acanthus, swag, husk, and rosette decorations. 63 in. H. x 22 in. W x 18 in. D (at base); pedestal top is 15 in. in diameter. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville collection.
CONDITION: Scattered surface wear, exfoliation, and losses; older regilding. 4 in. area of loss swag carving to one torchiere; both with scattered minor spots of carving losses and chips. Shrinkage splits to tops.
