Greene County, Tennessee walnut pie safe, yellow pine and poplar secondary woods. The case top having the front edge strip of walnut and the remaining top poplar, two dovetailed drawers over two cupboard doors with mortise and tenon construction, punched tins on doors and side panels depicting an arch with a candle inside, six pointed star band on the top edge of side tins, tapered block feet. Interior with two shelves. 45 1/2" H x 52 1/2" W x 17 1/2" D. Mid 19th century. Written interior note with the name "Eva Kennedy Morristown Jan 83". Provenance: Betty Irene Yates estate, Greeneville, TN. Condition: Older refinish with minor shrinkage to case, tins with older surface, wear commensurate for age of safe.
