Large Ron Williams (Tennessee, 1947-2016) oil on canvas panoramic fall landscape painting depicting the rolling Smoky Mountains receding into the distance. With a lake or river visible in the middle ground and a dense autumn forest in the foreground. Signed "Ron Williams," lower right. Housed in a giltwood frame foliate moulded design. Sight: 42" H x 63" W. Framed: 53" H x 74 1/2" W. Biography: A native of Knoxville, TN and Navy veteran, Ron Williams began painting in his early adulthood and painted for over 40 years. He is best known for his numerous Hudson River School-style depictions of Southern Highland and Appalachian landscapes, primarily depicting East Tennessee and Western North Carolina.
CONDITION: Minute inclusions in the paint layer, otherwise overall excellent condition. Frame with 1" x 1" area of loss to lower right corner, not visible frontally.
