Large French Sevres style porcelain urn with ormolu mounts, having enameled hand painted vignettes to each side, with rose lustre trim and gilt highlights throughout. One vignette, signed "Cottinet" at lower edge, depicts a maiden seated and holding a garland of flowers, facing a pair of cherubs in a landscape setting; the other depicts a landscape setting with a fence line and intertwined roses. Elaborate gilt bronze acanthus leaf handles, and a gilt bronze plinth base. Cover with gilt bronze pineapple finial. Underside of lid marked with faux blue Sevres mark and "France". 29" H x 13" W. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville Collection.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition, slight wear to gilding.
