Antique Caucasian Kazak rug or carpet, wool on wool. Two primary medallions flanked by six secondary medallions with blue grounds and geometric decoration on a red field within three primary borders. Woven in colors of red, blue, brown, and cream. 4'' 5" x 3'' 9". Circa 1870.
PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.
CONDITION: Some scattered areas of abrash and areas of wear to the pile. 2 horizontal repairs to the center, approx.16" L and lower quadrant approx. 12" L. Losses to the fringe on each end.
