Attribution inscription with accession numbers, obverse, old sticker label, reverse. 1 3/4" H x 5 3/8" dia. 2nd-11th items: Ten (10) stone axe heads, including one (1) carved from a porous, dark grey stone (7" L x 3 3/4" W x 1 5/8" D), one (1) carved from a smooth, dark grey stone (6 3/4" L x 2 5/8" W x 1 1 1/4" D), one (1) carved from a tan stone (6 1/8" L x 3 1/4" W x 1 1/2" D), one (1) carved from a dark brown stone (3 5/8" L x 2 5/8" W x 1 1/4" D), one (1) with groove carved from a grey stone (4 1/2" L x 2 7/8" W x 1 1/4" D), one (1) carved from a dark grey stone (4 5/8" L x 2 1/2" W x 1 1/2" D), one (1) carved from a light brown stone with grey veins (4 1/8" L x 3" W x 2" D), one (1) carved from a porous, grey stone (5" L x 1 1/2" W x 3/4" D), one (1) carved from a light brown stone with a grey vein (3" H x 1 7/8" W x 1" D), and one (1) carved from a porous, light and brown grey stone (2 3/4" L x 1 5/8" W x 3/4" D). 12th-13th items: Spherical game balls, including one (1) carved from a dark grey stone (3 3/4" dia) and one (1) carved from a light tan stone (2 1/4" dia). 14th item: Small discodial carved from a light tan sandstone. 3/4" H x 2" dia. 15th item: Egg shaped grinding stone carved from a porous, light brown stone. 4" L x 2 3/4" W x 2 3/4" D. Provenance: Consignor inherited from the estate of Dr. Joseph Stickley of Chattanooga, TN (d. 2001). CONDITION: Overall good condition with wear, areas of loss, etc. to be expected from age and manner of use. 2nd-11th items: Old sticker labels, scotch tape residue to two axe heads. 14th item: Old sticker reside to one side.
