Two (2) Native American Mississippian Culture pottery jars. 1st item: Grey ware pottery jar with incised geometric decorations to bulbous body, conical neck, flared lip, round base. 9" H x 6 1/2" dia. 2nd item: Buff ware with red slip pottery jar having a bulbous body, flared neck, and round base. 7 1/2" H x 8 1/2" dia. Museum accession numbers to bases. Provenance: Consignor inherited from the estate of Dr. Joseph Stickley of Chattanooga, TN (d. 2001). CONDITION: Overall good condition. Areas of loss, largest 1/2", to lips. Museum accession numbers to bases, old stickers to bodies.
