Native American Quapaw Mississippian Culture polychrome pottery jar with red and white swirl designs to rounded body, red and white stripes to neck to slightly flared lip, rounded base. Museum accession number to base. 7" H x 7 1/2" dia. 800-1600 AD. Provenance: Consignor inherited from the estate of Dr. Joseph Stickley of Chattanooga, TN (d. 2001). CONDITION: Overall very good condition. 1 1/2" area of loss to lip. Minute areas of loss, craquelure to polychrome. Museum accession number to base, old sticker to top of body.
