1st item: German oval miniature portrait on porcelain depicting the Virgin Mary with a shrouded finger near her face, also known as “Madonna del dito.” Stamped verso “Marie Nach Dolce” or “Mary after (Carlo) Dolci.” Paper stamp may partially cover factory mark, possibly attributable to KPM, or Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur (Royal Porcelain Factory). Housed in blue velvet mat inside an easel back carved wood frame with hinged doors. Sight: 3 in. H x 2 1/2 in. W. Framed: 11 3/4 in. H (with stand) x 4 in. W x 1 1/2 in. D. 2nd item: Russian dome-shaped icon in gilt and tempera with gesso on wood panel, depicting the Virgin Mary as “Our Lady of the Sign,” with the Christ Child encircled on her chest above 4 religious figures. Cyrillic lettering for Mother of God is painted on the upper left and right sides of the dome, inside a painted circle. 13 in. H x 7 3/4 in. W. x 1 in. D. 3rd item: Tin retablo depicting the Christ Child with the Virgin Mary, or Senora del Refugio. Hand-painted crowns and floral designs surround the Madonna and Child, with cloud plumes below. 13 1/4 H x 9 3/4 in. W. All items 19th century.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition. Porcelain plaque is loose inside velvet casing, with dried glue visible. Missing a hinge on right, and some loss to both sides of wooden frame. 2nd item: Vertical scratches to top and on bottom corners. Other scattered paint loss across front and along sides. 3rd item: Puncture marks along top center for hanging, and to the sides. Scattered oxidation, especially to corners, which are also bent.
