Louis XVI style Neoclassical Rouge Marble Clock and Garniture Candelabra with bronze dore mounts. All three pieces of carved columnar form in red, black and white marble with acanthus and paw feet, the center piece with inset Garrard and Vignon Paris clock (signed on works), having a dial with gilt Roman numerals, pierced gilt hands and glass bezel, adorned with bronze dore garland and surmounted by an urn with gilt pomegranate finial and ram’s head mask handles and flanked by two five-light candelabras. Candelabra: 21″H . Clock: 19″H x approx. 10″ diameter. French, circa 1870.
PROVENANCE: Private Southeast Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: Repaired clean break to marble edge on one candelabrum, 1.5 in. long. A couple of minor scattered abrasions. Some slight wear to gilt and oxidation to bronze. Clock works not tested or guaranteed. Bell, key and pendulum retained.
