19th Century miniature mahogany chest of drawers, possibly a jewelry or collector’s curio chest, having a rectangular top with central carved star in circle design flanked by half circles, with quarter circles at corners and a reeded front edge, over eight small dovetailed drawers and one large bottom drawer made to look like two drawers, atop a scalloped skirt with French feet. Each drawer with inlaid banded edges and small round brass pull. 14 in H x 18 in W x 11 3/4 in D. European or Southeast Asian Colonial, 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with some wear, especially to skirt and feet, and some losses to banding on drawer edges. Repairs to reeded front molding and to one foot. Repair to top at front right edge.
