Lot 262: 2 Antique Turkmen Ensi Tribal Rugs, Yomud & Ersari

Two (2) antique Yomud or Yomut Turkmen Ensi tribal rugs, Yomud and Ersari, wool on wool, both with central cruciform designs and lower ensi panels. Woven in colors of red, blue, and cream. 5 ft. 2 in. x 4 ft. 11 in. and 6 ft. 6 in. x 4 ft. 4 in. Both circa 1875.
 

PROVENANCE: Private Des Moines, Iowa collection.

CONDITION: Yomud Ensi with losses to the border/fringe, moderate pile wear. Ersari Ensi with losses to border/fringe, repair top center, moderate pile wear.
