Late Federal square-back mahogany sofa with exposed scrolled top rail. Exposed wooden arm rests sloping to carved handholds, with vase-turned reeded supports, sofa frame resting on four front tapering reeded legs. Curved back with plain square swept rear feet. 79 1/2 in. W x 24 3/4 in. D x 37 1/2 in. H. Probably Philadelphia, circa 1820.
CONDITION: Older surface with small, old breaks to edges of mahogany veneer on exposed wooden armrests. 20th century upholstery with fading to right side,
