Antique Persian Mohtasham Kashan area rug, wool on wool, large central stylized medallion with palmettes on a larger shaped medallion flanked by spandrels with foliate and bird designs, within four primary borders including a wide scrolling foliate border. Woven in blue, cream, brick red, gold, and pink colors. 49 1/2 in. x 79 1/2 in. Late 19th/Early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Charles R. Ragan, KY.
CONDITION: Overall pile wear, heaviest to the center. Overall fading to colors with some abrash, losses to fringed ends.
