1st item: Alexander Polk Donaghho, West Virginia ovoid stoneware pottery jug with geometric motifs and “A.P. Donaghho/Parkersburg, W. Va.” stenciled horizontally on one side. Three kiln marks to shoulder. 13 1/4″ H x 9″ W. 2nd item: Mid-Atlantic stoneware pottery 1-gallon crock, with incised capacity mark and neck ring. Cobalt foliate swag decorations to neck, handles, and upper shoulder. 11″ H x 7″ W. 3rd item: Mid-Atlantic lidded cylindrical stoneware pottery cake crock with freehand cobalt swag decorations to lid, body, and lug handles. Tooled line to the shoulder and the middle of the crock. 4 kiln marks to the lid. Unmarked. 8 1/2″ Diameter x 5 1/2 H. All pieces Last Qtr. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Collection of Christine Heineman, Garden City New York, by descent to present consignor.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall very good condition; 2nd item: overall good condition; 3rd item: 2 vertical cracks on side of crock, stabilized with glue. Lid is in overall good condition, with chips to interior of rim and fleabites to flange, consistent with age and use.
