Antique Persian Ferahan Sarouk carpet, wool on cotton, center-shaped medallion on a dark blue field within a larger shaped red ground medallion, flanked by floral spandrels, within five primary borders. Overall scrolling foliate and medallion designs. Woven in colors of red, blue, and gold, 8 ft. 9 in. x 11 ft. 10 in. Circa 1900.
CONDITION: Losses to borders, some pile wear, darkened overall color to one side, some approximate 2 in. tears to the center primarily to one end, patch repairs to back ranging from 2 inches to 19 inches. Professional cleaning is recommended.
