East Tennessee stoneware churn with free hand cobalt decoration consisting of three cobalt bands around lower rim, upper shoulder, and midsection. Wavy vertical lines, floral sprigs, cobalt flower on one side, "5" cobalt mark on other side (denoting gallon capacity). overall excellent condition, tight hairline at rim does not extend in the shoulder. Note – the floral three prong "sprigs" are very similar in design to sprigs on marked harvest jugs by potter Lewis Manning Haun (Greene Co., TN). 18"H X 8 1/3" Diameter.
