Lot 226: Carved Wooden Eagle with Outspread Wings, poss. Southern

Southern carved hardwood and painted grey eagle or architectural pediment with its wings spread and feet perched on two balls. Freestanding form with optional hanging brackets verso. 15 in. H x 13 in W.  Possibly Tennessee, early 20th century.

PROVENANCE: Private Knoxville collection, found in East Tennessee. 

CONDITION: Clean glued repair to lower tips of both wings. Wear to paint on beak, head, and lower corners of both carved wings.
