Two (2) Gaspare J. Ruffolo (American/Illinois, 1908-1997) oil on board nude portrait paintings. 1st item: Painting depicting a nude young woman with curly strawberry blonde hair in an impressionistic floral landscape. Signed "Gaspere Ruffolo" lower right. Housed in a metallic silver painted wooden frame. Sight – 11 1/2" H x 13 1/2" W. Framed – 17 5/8" H x 19 3/4" W. 2nd item: Painting depicting the bust of a nude young woman with curly strawberry blonde hair against a grey background. Signed and dated "Gasper J. Ruffolo. 35" lower right. Housed under glass in a carved off-white wooden frame. Sight – 9 3/4" H x 7 5/8" W. Framed – 13 3/4" H x 11 1/2" W. American, early/mid 20th century. Biography: Chicago-born Gaspere Ruffolo (alternate spelling Gasper) studied painting at the Art Institute of Chicago with Wellington Reynolds and George Oberteuffer, and exhibited at the Art Institute. He was known for his landscapes and portraits, and was a member of the Association of Chicago Painters and Sculptors, Chicago Galleries Association, and the All-Illinois Society of Fine Artists.
