American School oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a stream in dense woods. Signed "O.R. (?) Crosby" lower left. Housed in a molded giltwood frame. Sight – 29 1/2" H x 19 1/2" W. Framed – 35 1/2" H x 25 1/2" W. Late 19th/early 20th century. Provenance: The University Club of Nashville, TN. CONDITION: Overall craquelure. Light stretcher marks. One inch patch/repair tear, upper center quadrant, one pin hole upper right quadrant. Frame not likely original.
