Middle Tennessee, Lewisburg History, hand pieced and quilted, Brunswick or Carpenter’s Wheel pattern cotton quilt. Consisting of solid red, green, and white cotton fabrics and a white cotton backing with cotton quilting thread in red and green to match quilt colors and cotton batting. The turkey red binding is separate and is applied by hand. 73 in. x 89 in. Circa 1895 – 1900.
PROVENANCE: By oral history, descended in the Ezell family of Lewisburg, TN.
CONDITION: Some fading in the fold lines, some scattered fading of green to beige, and some very minor fabric deterioration in the center. The back is clean with dye migration visible.
