U.S. Model 1858 Canteen or "Bullseye" canteen with the original cotton sling, dark blue wool cover, and cork stopper with iron pull ring. All three original strap loops present. Cover comprised of the original, dark-blue kersey material and is handsewn along the canteen seams. 9" dia. (includes stopper). Possibly surplus. Provenance: Private Florida collection. CONDITION: Mold present to cotton sling, slight losses to wool cover at one side.
