Piedmont, North Carolina, salt-glazed stoneware pottery jug stamped J.F. BROWER for John F. Brower (Randolph County, 1848-1911). Semi-ovoid form with a pulled handle applied to the shoulder and neck. Stamped J.F. BROWER and 2 to the right of the handle, denoting the gallon capacity. Incised line around the upper shoulder and around the neck with a thumbprint on the handle terminus. 14 1/2" H. Last half 19th century.
CONDITION: Very good condition.
