Two (2) Mose Ernest Tolliver (Alabama, 1919-2006) outsider art items, including one (1) house paint on wood panel painting of a watermelon on a white background surrounded by a pink border, and one (1) rare hand-painted found earthenware bowl with pink and green floral decoration extending from the center. Both signed MOSET with a backward "S" on lower right of panel and on rim of bowl. Painting on panel: 8" H x 16" W. Bowl: 3 1/4" H x 11" Dia. Note: a copy of a photograph of Mose Tolliver with the consignor, plus some printed biographical information/clippings, is available to the winning bidder.
PROVENANCE: The personal collection of former Folk/Outsider Art dealer Jamie Teal, Nashville, Tennessee; acquired directly from the artist.
CONDITION: Panel in overall good condition with natural age shrinkage to panel and slight wear to edge. Bowl with chip to rim, approximately 3/4".
