Piedmont, North Carolina, salt-glazed stoneware pottery jug stamped M.R.MOFFITT for Manley Robinson Moffitt (Randolph County, 1835-1913). Semi-ovoid form with pulled handle applied to the upper shoulder to the neck. Stamped M.R.MOFFITT on the base under the handle, and three incised lines circle the upper shoulder, highlighted by a salt-glaze drip. 12" H. Last half 19th century.
CONDITION: Overall very good condition.
