Southern or Mid-Atlantic Sheraton bowfront chest of drawers, cherry with figured cherry veneers, poplar secondary. Slightly overhanging, bow-front top over a conforming case with four graduated full-length drawers having oval brass pulls and molded edges with figured banding; paneled sides and turned and tapering Sheraton feet. Figured veneer banding is also present to the top edge and just below the top. 41" H x 41 1/4" W x 22 1/2" D. Circa 1820.
PROVENANCE: Previously from the collection of former antique dealers Jane and John Luna from Columbia, TN, descended in the family.
CONDITION: Older refinished surface with overall minor abrasions and general wear, including some wear to feet. Brasses are not original and locks are absent. Some drawer runners have been built up. Some small areas of possible molding/veneer replacements.
