Southern, likely Middle Tennessee, Sheraton chest of drawers, cherry primary. Rectangular top on a conforming case with stiles having figured wood inlay extending the length of the case. Four (4) graduated drawers with cockbeaded edges, dovetailed construction, oval brass pulls, inlaid keyhole escutcheons, and locks. Resting on four turned feet joined by a scalloped skirt. Paneled sides. 41 3/4" H x 39" W x 18 1/4" D. 2nd qtr. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Previously from the collection of former antique dealers Jane and John Luna from Columbia, TN, descended in the family.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Older refinished surface with expected wear and dings, top with some surface scratching and stains. Drawer sides with some build-up, worn drawer runners. Cockbeading on the lower drawer with older repairs. One pull missing handle. Shrinkage, particularly to back, with gap between top backboard and the top of the chest.
