Southern, likely Tennessee Federal Inlaid Chest of Drawers, walnut with poplar secondary, plain rectangular top with line inlaid sides over a rectangular case with four inlaid, graduated, dovetailed drawers; double line inlaid stiles; and base with crossband inlay to front and sides, over bracket feet with serpentine carved returns. Oval brass escutcheons and pulls. 42 1/2"H x 41 3/8" W x 21 5/8"D. First quarter 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Allison and John Beasley, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: Some patching, staining and shrinkage to top, with some small losses to inlay on sides. Some patches, scratching and fading to front and sides, losses to inlay at base on sides. 1 replaced board to back. 1" loss to corner of second drawer front. Pulls are early replacements. Lacking key.
