Charles Roger “Red” Grooms (Tennessee/New York, b.1937) color lithograph, screenprint, and rubber stamp on paper titled “Truck II”, 1979 (Knestrick, 78). Depicts a busy cityscape with a large, undulating tractor trailer dominating the foreground. One the side of the truck is an advertisement for “Supreme Products” with a painted female seated on a swing below the phrase “Panty Hose”. Numbered “32/75” lower right and pencil signed “Red Grooms”. Co-published by Brooke Alexander Inc. and Marlborough Graphics, New York, with Vermillion Editions embossed mark lower right corner. Float mounted onto a cream woven ground and housed in a contemporary black frame under glass. Sheet: 25 in. H x 62 in. W. Framed: 31 in. H x 67 in. W.
PROVENANCE: The estates of Walter and Dr. Mary Schatz, Nashville.
