Southern Federal inlaid chest of drawers, attributed to South Carolina. Figured walnut primary and yellow pine secondary, overhanging rectangular top, two dovetailed deep "bonnet" drawers over three graduated long dovetailed drawers, all drawer fronts with satinwood kite shaped escutcheons and dark and light wood line inlay. Case on yoke-shaped skirt and sides, supported by four French feet. 44 1/2" H x 38" W x 18 5/8" D. Early 19th century. CONDITION: Refinished. Replaced brasses. All feet appear original. The returns on the left front and left rear foot are replacements.
