Joseph Delaney (Tennessee/New York, 1904-1991) sketchbook with twenty-nine (29) images including one (1) ink wash painting and twenty-eight (28) ink drawings or sketches. Ink wash painting depicts two nude male figures shown in profile. Ink drawings include artist at easel with nude male figure, trumpeter, head of a fox or cat (with notes), and various male and female figures including nudes. Six of the ink drawings are on verso and recto of three sheets: Blue-ink drawing with multiple figures, possibly including pregnant woman, and reclining figure on banner inscribed “American Academy in Rome”; fox or cat and standing, full-length nude female shown from behind; and face study and frontal view of seated, full-length female nude with one leg extended. Some sheets with inscriptions and one full page of notes. Ink wash painting, cover with blue-ink drawing of reclining female nude, and sheet with other blue-ink drawings are loose. All sheets approx. 6 in H x 4 in W except loose sheet with blue ink drawings (not cover), 4 3/4 in H x 3 1/4 in W.

CONDITION: Minor toning to sheets. With some minor soiling and creases primarily outside of images. Cover with marked soiling.
