Louis XVI style giltwood three-panel folding screen, each panel comprised of a pierced pediment over painted grisaille oil on canvas mythological medallions, depicting putti engaged in various activities such as catching doves, crowning each other in laurels, threshing wheat, and fending off a goat. Each panel upholstered in damask satin, framed by lamb's tongue, ribbon-and-stick, and bead course molded gilt wood. Folded: 61" H x 20 1/4" W. Open: 61" H x 59 1/2" W. French, late 19th to early 20th century.
CONDITION: Scattered slight wear to gilt including minor losses; minor wood shrinkage commensurate with age; loss to lower giltwood decoration on one panel. Satin with scattered minor fraying and separation from panel, primarily to seams; one screen's satin panel slightly loose; scattered staining to satin, en verso. Paintings with minor craquelure throughout and slight abrasion to edges.
