European Baroque style mahogany armchair or throne chair having a tall back, scroll form arms surmounting a squared seat and block and turned legs connected with a carved front foliate stretcher and turned center stretcher. Covered in needlepoint upholstery featuring opposing griffins on the backrest. 46 1/4" H x 25" W x 24 1/2" D. European, Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: The chair is in very good condition with re-bracing to the stretchers. Some scattered wear to the upholstery and seat springs have worn unevenly.
