Grouping of three (3) Southern alkaline glazed forms including two (2) jars and one(1) jug. 1st item – Tall Southern green alkaline preserving jar with heavy drips below shoulder. Red/brown clay color, possibly Carolinas. 12" H. Second half of 19th century. 2nd item – Dark brown alkaline glaze jar with drips, flattened rim, attributed to Buncombe Co., NC. 9 3/4"H. L. Late 19th century. 3rd item – Southern alkaline glazed jug with green drips, pulled handle. 10 3/4"H. Late 19th century. Provenance: Betty Irene Yates estate, Greeneville, TN. Condition: 1st item – overall excellent condition. 2nd item – large chips to rim edge, some abrasions to glaze on side of jar. 3rd item – handle glued, otherwise very good condition.
